StepXpert Importer is a tool for bringing STEP CAD files into Blender. It converts CAD parts and assemblies into watertight meshes using curvature‑adaptive tessellation, ensuring the resulting geometry is ready for rendering or animation. The addon reads XCAF metadata from software like CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, and Creo to preserve real part names, colors, and assembly hierarchies as nested Blender collections. Additional workflow features include the ability to adjust mesh detail dynamically after import without reloading the file, and a reload function that updates the geometry if the source CAD file changes while preserving local transforms and materials. It also provides automatic scale detection and can export a Bill of Materials to Excel or CSV formats.
